THE PROJECT
Time & Space served as the production company for the inaugural World Famous Block Party: Juneteenth Edition, working in partnership with the VIP Family Foundation to bring a new celebration of Black music, culture and community to Downtown Long Beach.
The free, all-ages event brought together live entertainment, food, local businesses, cultural programming and family activities for an eight-hour celebration centered around one of Long Beach’s most iconic cultural institutions, World Famous V.I.P. Records.
THE PRODUCTION
Producing a first-year public event meant creating the operational framework from the ground up.
Time & Space managed the production behind the event, coordinating the planning, permitting, vendors, infrastructure, entertainment logistics, production schedules, city requirements, load-in and load-out, and on-site operations required to bring everything together.
The event included two stages, multiple programming areas, vendors, food and beverage, family activities, cultural activations and community partners.
THE RESULT
The inaugural World Famous Block Party brought the legacy of V.I.P. Records into the heart of Downtown Long Beach while creating a new platform for artists, local businesses and the community to celebrate Juneteenth together.
What began as a new event concept became a full-day community celebration built around music, culture and Long Beach history.
